This programm is used to monitor modem usage over time (allthough it can easily be changed to monitor any other ressource). It generates an image showing modem/ressource usage over time, which can be incorporated in an automagically updated HTML page like this:

Modems are counted from top to bottom. A colored bar represents a modem being active. The number on the vertical axis is the tty-port-number so you have to add 1 to have the corresponding serial port-number that is the number of the modem.

Problem An ISP was facing the situation, that many of his clients would maintain their websites themselves and the webteam would quite often have to apply some finishing touch, corrections etc. Unfortunately the uploaded files did not have very useful permissions to perform that task. Here’s my work on the https method for apt. Encrypted connection and authentification through certificates works. This is a pre-final version. If there will be changes then only from suggestions or criticism by other people, particulary apt’s author.

I wanted to read the openssl docu and it was in (gzipped) pod. What a pain. So here comes podview which lets you view gzipped|compresse|zipped pod ducumentation passed to podview through stdin (pipe) or as an argument as a filename.
